Wonder why I put Wedding Photography Halifax in the title with Engagement photos? Well I LOVE doing engagement sessions with couples! ESPECIALLY if I am photographing your wedding! On our website this is the little “spiel” that I wrote in regards to engagement sessions and how beneficial they are and beyond that….we take some pretty cool photos:
Our engagement sessions are available whether or not you have booked us as your wedding photographers!
If we are photographing your wedding you can think of the engagement session as a “practice shoot”. The shoot is a great way for me to get to know you as a couple and to see what works in regards to photography. It is also a great time for you to get to know me, since I’ll be around for pretty much all of your special day!
It’s a pretty simple process, we select a location (the more out-of-the-box the better) and go shoot for about an hour. Much like the photo specific time of your wedding we will take a few hundred images; some portraits, some more artistic, and details as well. I go home and edit a selection of the images – just like I will with your wedding -and then you come chill at our viewing studio and we go through the images together.
When we go through the viewing session I will get to see what images you associate best with and which ones may not appeal to you as much. This process helps me to customize your wedding day coverage and incorporate what you like most.
Basically it’s a lot of fun and even if we aren’t shooting your wedding it’s a great way for you to get used to being in front of the camera.
