If you’re engaged, then this page is for you! (and if you’re not and you just love to browse, I get that, I spend a lot of time looking at photographs of super cute couples!)
We love engagements so much and here are just a few of the reasons why:
Engagement sessions give us endless possibilities! We’re not at a limit of time, or location. If you’re having your wedding in downtown Halifax, we can do your engagement session at the beach, the family cottage or in your home. Having a destination wedding? We can do your engagement photographs in the city, the valley during apple blossom festival, or at the bar where you met!
Whenever possible we encourage couples to do their engagement sessions in a different season and location than where their wedding is, because after all, variety is the spice of life!!!
I have had a LOT of people tell me that they don’t like having their photo taken, but the engagement session puts them at ease! We have fun, and without the pressure of a wedding day timeline, we can take our time. We also figure out how crazy I need to be to get your authentic smiles (and how much of my crazy you can take!). It gives our couples a little extra comfort level on the wedding day because instead of a stranger I am that crazy gal you had some fun taking pictures with, and you know that the photo time really isn’t going to be so bad.
We also get a chance to chat through what you loved about your session and what maybe you didn’t love so much. For example Sometimes people show me super fashion styled or extremely stoic photos, and we include some in our engagement sessions, but then the couple can’t stop laughing at themselves because it’s just not “them”. And sometimes we learn things like you’re sensitive to a slightly smaller eye, or a crooked tooth that only shows up in a profile on one side.. All of these things help us to be the very best wedding photographers we can be for you! We take everything we learned and pull it into your wedding day coverage to give you the very best wedding images that we can!
Plus it’s so much fun!
